While the Government shutdown has affected our stamp and JR ranger badge collection, we have still had a fantastic time climbing, exploring and scampering all over the giant monzogranite rock formations – providing an epic playground for all.
The landscape is desolate and beautiful, providing various shapes and formations to keep the imagination busy deciding what each rock formation looks most like. The Joshua Trees (really a species of Yucca) can grow in all shapes and sizes to over 40 ft tall!
We were able to stay one night in Jumbo Rocks campground before they closed camping in the park. So we moved to BLM land outside of Joshua Tree. We met some great ‘skoolie’ families and even another 5-year old Wren. We had a great time.
