#15 Big Bend (TX)

Big is right! 800,000 acres including the Chisos Mountain range, Rio Grande river and desert (80% of the park!). We spent 6 days exploring as much as possible but feel like we just scratched the surface of what is there. There’s a fantastic dinosaur exhibit and lots of wildlife (Stacy even got a glimpse of a Panther!). We hiked, visited Balanced Rock, explored the Boquillas and Saint Elena Canyons, stuck our hands and feet in the Rio Grande, enjoyed the hot springs, and earned ranger badges and extra centennial hike patches. Nick and Ethan hiked Emory Peak – the highest peak in the park. There is so much to see and do in the park all year long. We really enjoyed our time here.
